Once upon another time, in a forest, there lived 3 bears - Teddy bear, Papa bear and Gummi bear. They were very friendly and made friends with any animal in the forest! Then one day a girl came into the forest to gather berries. Gummi bear said "lets go and befriend her!" Teddy bear agreed. However, strangely, Papa bear didnt want to make friends with her. The other 2 bears were very shocked! They asked Papa bear why?! (and Im sure you also want to know.haha) It was because... long time ago, when Papa bear was just Baby bear, a girl name goldilocks invaded his house n ate up his papa n mama n his porridge, and worst, broke his FAVOURITE chair! He was very tramatised by it. poor Baby-now-Papa bear! Thus, until now, Papa bear doesn't like humans, esp. little girls. Mystery solved! THE END. thankyou for reading!

learning is fun

last sunday i went to watch horse racing at the turf club in kranji!! :
yujia's ex-teacher (retired) brought us to watch from the owner's lounge, such a privilege heh!

wow i learnt so much about horse racing! the 'rules' for racing and how it works and so on. cos mr goh (the teacher) has been watching/betting on horses for about 40years already, so he could answer all my questions! haha i kept asking so many questions one after another like some idiot but he was so nice to keep telling us stuff! haha.

there were 10 races which included 2 international races - those two were the most exciting ones! the horses were bigger and ran faster too. oh and for all the races we "bet" on which horse will win BUT MY CHOSEN HORSES NEVER WON A SINGLE RACE!! instead most of them were close to last.. so sad!!

and for one of the races, Waipapa (the horse) slipped out from the barrier and ran away, haha so cute!! so he got withdrawn from the race.. i think horses look happier when they are galloping on their own without the jockey.. but then again i don't really know.. since i don't know much about horses and racing doesnt really give me the perspective of a horse hah.
mr goh told us about racing accidents where jockeys get killed/paralysed, and horses break their legs so they can no longer race. ugghh that's the scary side of horse-racing.

but anyway it was really an experience! and i think the built of horses, the way they gallop or sprint is STUNNING.

yesterday i went to ACM (Asean Civilization Museum) with ailin and co to see the Kangxi exhibition. there's so much to china's history that it is so confusing to me! but at least i know more about one emperor now haha.

its crazy how kangxi (and maybe all the other china emperors) are soooo talented and skilled in so many aspects. a military and political leader, who is good at hunting, literature, science, art.. and on top of that took good care of his countless wifes and children. but he's quite poor thing, cos his 3 empresses all died at such a young age until he didn't want anymore empresses! haha i enjoyed reading the part about his family the most.

oh there was this small group with a guide going around and i tried to listen out and follow them closely so that i could hear the guide, but it was too obvious so i gave up. haha.
anyhow, it was enriching! and the good thing was that NUS/uni students get to go to museums for free! anymore, anyone? haha.

learnt so much the past few days! and alot to think about too.. hmmmM.
but that's good.. a fulfilling holiday period, so far! at this rate, with meetings/meetups and things to do/think, i guess i really don't want or need to work!

learning without exams is fun :P

yesterday after dinner ber hy val and i played cranium at my place.
completely hilarious! hy was in my team and we won (cos got me! HAHA.)
ber says we shld create our own version. haha yeah and we should play again soon!

worship practice later and i hope i can get the song played right. keep listening, but it's still quite difficult to catch? (dont mess up noelle teh)

i am going to get a new phone with my new subscription plan but there's no phone i want to get! im contented with my current old phone even though sometimes the vibration is spoilt. sony ericsson? samsung? josh not here to give me some help haha.

ahh its been so long since i ate fishball noodles gahh craving for a nice bowl right now...

oh kenzo has now established a daily routine of patrolling the upstairs every morning. climbing upstairs to peep at us.. either that, or just lying at the doorway outside my mom's room because my mom doesn't allow him in. on some nights he'll be sleeping in the room with us.. hehe..
our rooms are getting smellier.. hmmm. no wonder why.

and i have come to the conclusion that cannot be an emcee. most horrible emcee in the whole wide world. i condemn myself! haha.

what a random post. oh well.

1. noelle's abstinence of sweets and chocolates for one week - A SUCCESS!
i decided to not eat any sweet or chocolate (chocolate biscuits not counted) for one week because i had been eating too many sweets! abi and daryl surprised me with a big box of sweets and lollipops as a studying encouragement and i kept eating and eating until my whole mouth was hurting! haha but now im so proud of myself!!

sweet-free week report:
On monday, 27 April, in the late aftnn, THE decision was made!
day #1: last thing i wanted to do was eat sweets coz my mouth was still sore haha.
day #2: did not harbour any sweet thought. (although i still had lollipops left in the box)
day #3: in the afternoon, i told leon i have not eaten any sweets for very long. he reminded me it was barely 3 days.
day #4: very aware that i've been sweet-less. but very determined to succeed.
day #5: nearly bought a packet of sweets from 7eleven! but i remembered it in good time!
day #6: my mom bought some sweets. leon kept trying to tempt me! he kept offering a sweet to me and even opened the wrapper and left the sweet on my laptop. but i resisted!
i ate vitamin c tablets. leon accuses me of eating sweets but its NOT a sweet please!
day #7: this was yesterday.. at night leon said a week was over.. i didn't believe him and kept counting the days! but when it was right...
monday night, 4 May - I ATE MY FIRST SWEET IN A WEEK!

haha im really so proud of myself! but on sunday when i ate the vitamin c tablet i realised how difficult is it to stop at ONE sweet. i ate one tablet, then i ate another one (because i recalled my mom said can eat two). then, i ate another one again (because the bottle said eat 1 - 5 tablets daily!). when i wanted to go to my 4th one, leon started accusing me so i decided to stop just in case. hahahaa.

2. exams are over!!!

ah haha ok suddenly going out now (cos i decided to be nice and accompany a lonely soul hahahaa)
